Guilt is a very universal feeling, and perhaps one of the most toxic of them all, in my experience. It destroys any creative or positive thought, it stagnates the mind.
How many people have ended up making important life choices under its influence? How many years lost in a wrong class, a wrong career, or a wrong relationship?
Acceptance and love are the only way around this, but far too few take this route, far too few have the paradigm shift. We all have a voice inside that guides us to our true destination. It may not make sense to all, nay, it might even seem to our loved ones like it is the wrong path, but even if that is the case, that path must be walked, for no lessons have come out of great success, only great failures.
Only with love can you nourish the human spirit and inspire a creative mindset that will bring about solutions instead of problems. Only with support and understanding can you help someone find their way, not through coercion, but through companionship. That is the only way to make the world a better place, one person at a time.
Otherwise there is only insecurity: am I really doing the right thing, is my intuition really correct? What if those around me are right and I should follow their guidance instead?
You cannot live with regrets, and you cannot live with guilt. All wrongs must be righted to a truly moral mind. Acceptance must be adopted that you have done the best that you could in the circumstances that met you. Do your best, every time, all the time, and you will have no worries.
Much love,
Zen Politics
